RIK PIERCE WORKSHOP day 1

Well, the workshop was even more amazing than I was expecting and incredible! I have a ton of photos to share and information about paper clay!!! <-----------I LOVE PAPER CLAY!!!! You can do the most amazing things with it!!!
Day 1 consisted of looking at all of our kit parts and painting the window and door jams and the fireplace/oven. We had a choice of having the oven with an opening beneath it for wood or above the oven for a warming shelf. I chose the upper.
The fireplace was made out of resin from an original sculpt that Rik made. It was primed grey and we used burnt umber, iron oxide,Hippo grey and orange to randomly paint the brick with light washes. Paints were Delta acrylics.
 Much more to come!!!

Catherine, I was thinking of you because you want to build your own dollhouse!!! You would be thrilled to know what is possible with Gator Foam and paper clay! What an incredible house can be built!

  5. Patty,

I met Rik in Chicago. He had several of his houses there. I was astonished by how real stone can look sculpted out of Paperclay.
He is such a nice man. He was honestly happy to stand a talk to people all day, me included. There isn't a fake bone in his body. He is exactly the person he presents himself to be.
